Primos and a Pool, Boys and a Baby

It was another busy weekend for us. On Saturday we went to a pool party that Renee's aunt and uncle had. The weather was cooler than it has been and I probably wouldn't have even gone in the pool, but that is one of those decisions you no longer get to make when you have a child who doesn't care how cold it is. Max was dropped off at the pool party and hung out with us and then came home with us.

Here are the boys in the pool.

Here are the boys realizing the hot tub was much better than the pool.

What is a party without corn on the cob!

And of course, the best way to end the night... watching a little Dora and then the Olympics.

Max is a big sports fan, just like Chris was when he was younger (and still is). So Max requested to watch the Olympics before bed. it was good because it got Paul and I interested in them and now we've been watching them every night. On Sunday morning Max and I were the first two up and he wanted to watch the Olympics again. I had a lot of fun trying to answer questions about sports I didn't even know existed, such as handball. Sadly, Max knew more about it than I did!

On Sunday we went to visit my friend Vincie, her husband Andy and her sons Tyler, Noah and new baby Sean. Rudy was very excited to see Baby Sean but it wasn't until the end when we were trying to take pictures that he would consent to hold him.

FFF- Having A Ball

As I chose the pictures this week, I realized I may have interpreted the theme too literally. But it may have helped me to narrow down possible pictures.

Biking, Take 2

On Saturday we let Rudy try his bike again. He started out doing very well going down the slight hill on our street. He was getting better about moving his feet, but he also seemed to be getting more used to the fact that he "rides" and Mommy and Poppy do all the work. So we had to shatter that image quickly. He's doing better with pedaling and I think he'll get it eventually. He just needs to figure it out on his own.
Here he is almost pedaling.

And here are his other methods of biking. He decided if we weren't going to move the bike for him, he'd find another way to do it. He walked about a block using one of these two methods before we were finished.

Anniversary Weekend

Today is our 6th Anniversary.

Last year on this weekend we went to a Bed and Breakfast a few hours away and spent the weekend relaxing, walking around the town, and tubing down the Delaware River. We were sure it was going to be "our last time at a hotel without Rudy". As with all our other "lasts" we expected over the years, this was again proven wrong but at the time we tried to enjoy it as our last time away.

This year, we had a lazy day at home yesterday. We took Rudy to one of his favorite places - the library. We tried to have afternoon naps. Only one of us fell asleep (and it wasn't me and it wasn't Rudy). Then we went to a local seafood restaurant for dinner. They have an outside eating area with a very small menu - almost like bar food- and a very casual setting so we figured it would be perfect for Rudy. Dinner was delicious - Crab Newberg, u-peel shrimp, friend shrimp, corn on the cob and clams (for Paul). Rudy sat for some of the time but ran around as usual for some of the time. As Paul said later, "Last year we would have given anything to spend our anniversary chasing Rudy around at dinner - I think that makes this our best anniversary yet" and he was right. Our family is finally together.

After dinner we walked on the dock and looked at the water and the boats and then we came home and let Rudy try his bike again. I'll post pictures and more stories on that another time. After Rudy went to bed, Paul and I ate some delicious desserts and watched a movie. What a difference a year makes!

This morning we got up and left the house early to go tubing with Bill & Renee. It was a beautiful day. The weather was perfect and we had a great time. I bought a waterproof camera to take, but of course it has film that actually has to be developed so pictures of that will be coming at a later date too. We all had a great time. Rudy only fell in once and it was a combination of Paul getting out of the tube and Rudy standing up. He was startled but quickly got over it when we told him the next stop was the Hot Dog Man. After falling in, he was also much more cautious about moving around in the tube.

Bill & Renee, we think we need to make this an annual event. Chris & Patti, hopefully you can join us next time.

And last of all, Happy 6th Anniversary to my wonderful, fun, handsome, kind husband. I can't imagine doing any of this without you. And I can't wait to see what the next years have in store! :) I love you.

FFF- Crazy

The theme was actually Crazy Hair and Bed Heads but Rudy's hair really doesn't get that bad since it's pretty short. So my variation is just Crazy. So here are pictures of Rudy being crazy.
