Friday we spent in Cape May County and Wildwood. Our first stop for the morning was the Cape May County Zoo. The first animal to greet us was the Snowy Owl, who had a small white mouse waiting for it to eat. (the mouse was dead but the owl was definitely intrigued by it. We didn't stay long enough to watch it eat it, but when we left the mouse was gone.)
If you look closely across the water, you will see about 20 turtles stretched across a log in the sun.
Near the middle right side you can see one of the snow leopard cubs.

Rudy didn't believe I could take a good picture with my hand stretched out. He was very impressed with the outcome.

After walking around the zoo, we got our lunches and ate them in the park. After lunch we took out some new toys- a bubble gun and a kite.

We also brought baseball gloves and balls and Paul and Rudy had a catch.
We rode the train.
The whole ride he said, "choo choo", so I thought he'd like to stand by the engine for a picture. He couldn't have cared less as you can see.

After the zoo and park, we headed down to Wildwood. Our ultimate goal was a Globetrotters game in the evening. We walked on the boardwalk, looked ta a few things, and then we found a laser maze.

We had an early dinner on the boardwalk because Paul and Rudy had pre-game passes for the Globetrotters. Rudy got to go to do some basketball skills with some of the players. N and I were going to walk on the boardwalk (and hope he fell asleep for a while) but just after Paul and Rudy went in, it started storming, so instead we hung out in the lobby for an hour- not a lot of fun.

After the clinic was over, N and I met up with Paul and Rudy and we headed in to our seats. The boys were enthralled by the pre-game show.

Partway through the first quarter, N had been leaning against my arm, so I asked him if he wanted to take a walk and he said yes. He wasn't thrilled that we left Paul and Rudy, and cried for a few minutes (it's a good thing the Globetrotters' game is soooo loud, a crying 2 year old was easily drowned out!), but soon fell asleep in his stroller. And of course, we always compromise with a silly picture after the serious one.
N woke up just after halftime, and just in time for a snack, so he was happy and sleepy for the rest of the game. Rudy went out on the court for the YMCA (for about 3 seconds, until he decided he didn't know the YMCA and he wasn't going to stand out there and dance- but at least I got a good picture first!).
After the game, the players were available for autographs. It was pretty chaotic- no lines just stand near where the player was that you wanted to see and try to push your way in enough to get a picture/autograph. There was only a limited time available so Rudy decided he wanted to see Stretch so we worked our way up there. No, Stretch is not standing on anything, yes Rudy probably came to about his waist.
By the time we arrived home about 10:15, both boys were fast asleep and barely woke as we put them to bed. By 10:30 Paul and I were probably asleep. It was a fun, but exhausting day.
