Splash Magic Campground, Day 1

We headed out Monday morning for our next camping adventure. This one was more civilized - cabins with beds, indoor plumbing and appliances.

Rudy was very excited to go and had to bring 4 friends with him - none of whom got any attention once we arrived!

We left our flat state and headed into the mountains. The views while we were driving were beautiful.

We had to take a tunnel through the mountain at one point.

After about 4 hours, we arrived at the campground - Splash magic Campground in Northumberland, PA. Rudy was very excitedabout the bunk beds and couldn't wait to try them out!

Shortly after we arrived, our friends arrived. Vincie and I were roommates in college and, amazingly, have never been on vacation together, so we were really excited for this week. Her boys are right around Rudy's age - Tyler is 6, Noah is 4 and Sean is almost 2. They had the cabin next to us. Here Noah and Rudy hang out in the top bunks.

All four boys played in the bunk for a while - Rudy, Sean, Noah and Tyler. This is one of the few times the big boys actually let Sean play with them, I think.

Just after we arrived and unloaded, a storm hit. We got a lot of rain, but it passed pretty quickly. After dinner, we took a walk around the campground.
Rudy and Noah pretended to be the dolphin, Splash.

The boys all checked out a playground.

And we looked at the lake. In the background, you can see our cabins.

Rudy started the night in the top bunk (and Paul climbed in with him to read him a story). But he eventually wanted to move down to the bottom and spent the other nights at the bottom, although the top was still a play area for all the boys.
