Memorial Day Weekend

Just some proof, for me, that there are times when the boys play peacefully together, with Rudy instructing about how things work.

Sunday was a beautiful day for our BBQ. N loves the slide. And loves saying "cheese" when he sees the camera.

This was the first meet for N and Paige. They got along well, if you don't count the times N got possessive of the toys and wanted whatever Paige had!

A dirty hand is a sign of a lot of fun!

Will, Paul and N just hanging out. Will is 10 going on 35. He and his brother, Jared, came to the BBQ and spent almost all their time hanging out with Rudy-- playing in the woods , playing in his room, and playing various sports. Rudy has so much fun with them (and their other brother Nathan who didn't come).

Monday morning we walked down to the parade. Here are the boys peacefully waiting for the parade to begin.

Mothers' Day Weekend

Saturday Rudy had another class at the Arden, "Mixed-Up Fairy tales". The weather at home was rainy and miserable and we toyed with the idea of one of us staying home with N, so we didn't have to amuse a 2 year old in a rainy Philly, but Rudy wanted us both to be there, so we all headed out. Luckily when we got to Philly, it was sunny and dry. Rudy went in to his class and we walked around with N. We found a great place to hang out at Washington Square Park. N was happy to be out of his stroller.

We headed back to get Rudy and admired the flowers in the gardens at Christ Church, which a few weeks ago had been non-existent.

Once again we got to watch Rudy and the other kids show off the fun they had.

Then we got some ice cream and sat near the church again. After finishing his ice cream, Rudy climbed around on the fence at the church and watched people arrive for a wedding.

We have discovered that N is not a fan of ice cream (horrors!), so he enjoyed a cookie.

 

 

Sunday, Mother's Day, we headed out early to breakfast at Shea's. I wanted to take a nice hike somewhere, but really didn't feel like driving too far. While researching this week, I found that there was a local "Wildlife Management Area" in a neighboring town. It is much more woodsy and less cut out trails, but we had a lot of fun exploring it.

 

(Remember, this is our kid who 'doesn't like nature'.)

 



N got in to the swing of it after a while. At first he fell and had a hard time getting his footing and wasn't very happy with us. He also wanted to be carried, which wasn't happening, but he eventually enjoyed it.
