Happy Birthday, Paige!

Yesterday we celebrated Paige's birthday party at Renee's aunt and uncle's house. As always, the pool is where the kids spend all their time.

When not in the pool, bubbles were a big hit with the youngest members of the family.

Rudy and Lucy took some time to hang out in the hot tub.

More bubbles.

Cake time! Now we no longer have three 2-year-olds, we have one 3-year-old and two 2-year-olds. Next month is Charlie's birthday!

The birthday girl anxiously awaiting the candles of her cake being lit.

Silly boy with goggles (that stayed on almost the whole ride home) and cake on his face.

Well if the oldest monkey is getting a picture, then the youngest one needs one taken, too.

Cheese!

A Wet Weekend

Last weekend we had a lot of water time. Saturday our church had a fundraiser at a local swim club. So we spent 5 hours hanging out at the pool. Except for when he grabbed a hot dog, Rudy was in and around the pool the whole time.
The swim club requires that everyone under 8 who wants to go off the diving board has to take a test. So he had to swim the length of the pool, and then back, without touching the sides. He could take a rest on the side before going back. He successfully passed and headed to the diving board.

Our priest got into the diving board action and showed off some flips.

This did not end well for me.

Sunday afternoon, although it was very cloudy, we headed to the beach. The water has been unseasonably warm- you can walk right in without having to adjust to it- something that usually doesn't happen until sometime in August. So Rudy spent the whole 2 1/2 hours we were there in the water (which meant either Paul or I spent the that time in the water, since he's not yet ready to be way out by himself).

I was trying to take a picture of how his eyes looked with these goggles on (they are adult sized), but he had to add some silliness to it.

And then more silliness ensued as I just kept snapping away.

Yep, he's in that "shake your booty" stage where it is always funny!

Peaceful beach scenes.

Even after all this water, fresh air and exercise, he didn't collapse at the end of either day. I wish I had just a portion of his energy!

Parties, Parties, Everywhere

Last Saturday was spent going from one party to another. First we went to a skating party for Jade. Here is Mr. Dramatic falling on the floor before he even started skating.

It took him a while to feel confident on his skates, the wheels were looser than the last time he skated, so he was more likely to fall, but eventually he came to a point where he wouldn't hold my hand.

The best of a party - cake!

And, of course, hanging out with friends.

Finally getting the hang of it.

He wouldn't participate in the hokey pokey or the limbo, but he loved the chicken dance!

After Jade's party, we headed to a pool party to celebrate Paige's birthday. Our little fish spent almost every minute of the 4 or more hours we were there in the water.

He had fun playing games with Uncle Bill.

The birthday girl!

Rudy, Paige and I in the pool.

Nothin' better than hanging out in the hot tub with a Yoo-Hoo.

Rudy showing one little bit of compassion and interest as an older cousin, actually walked for a few seconds with Paige.

Renee's aunt's house, where the pool party was, always has lots of wildlife around. This year we saw a young deer that Rudy took a picture of.
