Noyes Museum and A Playground

Saturday there was a Fall Festival at the local museum.  The kids loved it. There was so much for them to do. If we hadn't been hungry, and had other plans, we probably would've stayed longer. The first three pictures here were actually taken by the museum and posted on their page.

The kids each tried the weaving station.

Rudy found a friend from school and they walked around together for a while. Rudy and Niko both really enjoyed the woodworking station.

Outside when we first arrived, the kids drew with chalk and touched animals from the aquarium touch tank (or rather, Rudy and Jada touched the animals- Niko wanted no part of it.)

Niko's finished product.

Jada participated in a play- she was the first little pig.

There was a painting station. Niko was very precise.

Jada started out with a plan...

...but eventually decided that it was more fun to just add more colors on top of other colors.

Jada got her face painted.

The kids all helped paint dots for a "Dot Wall Art" project.

And Rudy got his face painted, too.

After the museum we took a drive for some lunch and shopping. With a playground break in between. The updated merry-go-round was definitely the kids' favorite part of it. The spun on it, and spun each other on it over and over. It's a miracle they were able to walk to the car when we left!

Summer, Week 5

Monday- We lazed around the house in the morning and then met Rudy's friend Joshua, and his sisters, at Imagination Station. We had lunch and the kids played on the playground, walked around the lake, and played on the playground some more. It was a hot day but they kept going for more than two hours.

Tuesday- We ran a few errands and then I went to work and Rudy went to PALS.

Wednesday- Rudy and I went to the $1 movie. We saw The Adventures of Tintin. We came home and had lunch, I did a few things around the house, and then we headed to Imagination Station to play.

Thursday- I worked all day and Rudy spent the day at PALS.

Friday- Grandpa came over in the morning and hung out with Rudy while I went to an interview. Then Rudy and I went to Chick-fil-a for lunch. After doing a few loads of laundry, we headed to a playground in Brigantine- Shark Park.

Two Little Monkeys

One day Rudy called Noel upstairs to be with him and I found them both lying in our bed playing games. Excuse the blurry pictures since getting both of them still at the same time is almost impossible!

Last weekend turned out not to be very good for the beach, so we headed to a local park. One little monkey climbed the jungle gym.

The other crawled through tunnels and rode on motos.

This park also has trails and a small lake, so we took a walk around. N had to have his backpack, which he put down every few seconds. It seemed to be a hindrance anytime he wanted to look at something.

Rudy getting as close to the water as he can.

Two silly monkeys.

Yes, I ruined the picture by telling N to look at the camera, not me,at the exact moment the picture was taken. No, I was not going to attempt it again.

Two wild monkeys.

Rudy has always run ahead of us on walks, trails, in malls. N tends to lag behind, stubbornly refusing all requests to walk faster (or sometimes just to walk!) So here is N way behind in the covered bridge....

...and here is Rudy- a quarter of the way around the pond from us.

N found a stick- big and heavy and good for swinging.

After our walk, and a snack, we went back to the playground (until the rain got really hard and we left). The boys played like this on the swings for quite a while. No matter what Rudy says, he does enjoy playing with N at times.

Playground Nights

A few weeks ago,  we spent many evenings at the playground after dinner. One night Paul and I insisted we would park in a different place and walk around the lake first, then hit the playground.

We found a few bunnies as we walked. This one waited a long time before hopping away.

Another bunny Rudy tried to get close to.

See his little cottontail head into the grass.

We have had a lot of rain lately and the pier over the lake was completely flooded.
