Halloween Fun

Rudy;s Halloween parade at school. I could barely get him to look at me.

Tonight for Halloween, we went to Rudy's friend's grandmother's house (who, just to confuse matters, was also Rudy's first grade teacher!) She had 4 or 5 families over. We had pizza and treats and then went trick or treating. We ended up kind of breaking up into smaller groups as we trick or treated and ours was the last to return. Then the kids played flashlight hide and go seek for a while. It was a fun night.

Rudy and Jaedyn being silly.

The kids (minus the youngest who was still getting dressed).

One of the first houses (with no response).

The headless horseman

Aliens and UFOs (with music and strobe lights).

Returning from a house.

A scary set-up. Rudy actually wouldn't go up and get candy because he was too scared of all the people in costumes (and one with a chainsaw).

Cool Halloween lights at the Phillips' house.

Great Wolf Lodge

This weekend Rudy and I met our friends Kim and Lily at Great Wolf Lodge in the Poconos.

Kim and I wearing the kids' wolf ears.

The view from our balcony

First we spent time in the water park, then the kids got dressed up for trick or treating.

After dinner there was a costume parade and dance party. Lily changed costumes since there was another Cleopatra.

Rudy's costume was a big hit. So many people commented on it as we walked around. He had fun freaking people out. Several people asked to take a picture with him.

Me and my headless horseman

The next morning at breakfast Kim was demonstrating how much she loved Rudy while he pretended to protest.

After a few hours at the water park, we headed home.
Our good-bye pictures...

Rudy took these and started pretending to be a photographer and was moving the camera in all different directions.

One group picture

As we drove away, I took a picture of this slide that went outside. It looks so cool and was called the Double Barrel. It was quite a thrill ride and two out of four of us did not enjoy it.

Maurice River Bluffs hike

Sunday before church Rudy was asking what we were doing after church and offered the suggestions that he wanted to go to a Chuck E Cheese-type-place. We told him there wasn't anything nearby like that and it wasn't in our plans for the day.
After church he said, "Can we go on a hike?" Since he usually protests every time we suggest that, we immediately said yes.
We drove out to Millville area to the Maurice River Bluffs. It was more overcast there than at home and we did get rained on a little but it was a nice fall hike.

Rudy ran through the woods shooting at zombies the whole way.

He loved looking over the bluffs and kept asking Paul if they were like the cliffs he'd just seen in California.

A tree whose roots were completely exposed and heading straight into the water.

A piece of metal rail that a tree had grown around.

Rudy tried to get on this, but getting to the base of it was a little treacherous and he gave up.

An attempt at a selfie that ended up being a picture of Rudy and his bubble.
