Dynamic Duo

We had the pleasure of having Lucy visit us for a few days this week. When Max is around, Rudy only want to play with him, but Rudy and Lucy get along pretty well hen it's just the two of them. I just realized this week that Rudy is exactly half way between Max and Lucy, 20 months younger than Max and 19 months older than Lucy, so it makes sense that they could play well together.
We got the usual complaints about who was copying whom or bothering whom but on the whole it went well.

I was told by Patti that what Lucy wanted to do at our house was play superheroes with Rudy. A few hours after getting home, the fun started.

Breakfast together (one of many - both kids look for several 'snacks' or breakfasts).

Superheroes as doctors

This picture was taken by Rudy as we headed out to go swimming at a friend's pool.

The two fish waiting to get in.

Rudy is definitely going to miss having Lucy around - as are Paul and I since he hasn't asked us once to play with him since Lucy came. (We really need to figure out how to add a sibling to our family just for that reason. :))

Chaos

Some pictures of the crazy cousins at it again. We went to Chris and Patti's to celebrate the June birthdays (Paul and Lucy) and Father’s Day. It was a rainy day so the kids had fun inside. Max had requested we bring the superhero costumes, and a show ensued – quite chaotic and crazy to be honest.

I love the matching slippers!

Lucy deciding on which shoes fit her outfit best.

Batman striking a pose.

We were all called downstairs for the show. It consisted of the superheroes rescuing the princess. I will post the video (about a minute and a half before I realized there would be no logical conclusion and just stopped recording) but it was complete chaos. And the audience loved every minute of it.

Primos Locos

What happens when tres primos locos get together?

Superheroes save the world (or at least the house).

And after saving the world, sometimes a superhero just needs to be a kid and have some water and watch Scooby-Doo.

This is from November. Rudy decided to put on "The Superhero Show" for us one day.

Super Hero Fun

A recent lazy day at home, Rudy was playing with his super heroes and his trash truck. He had them all set up behind the couch, with the super heroes balanced on top of the trash can - a definite improvement for the super heroes who usually end up IN the trash truck.

Miscellaneous

Rudy is very interested in superheroes. He wants to know all about them - their names, what they do, why they do it,

He is constantly growing. I feel like I have to keep buying new pants for him because they are getting short (or he is getting tall!)

He doesn't like to nap at school. I'm not surprised since he hasn't napped at home in almost 2 years. I am surprised that he frequently DOES sleep but I guess that's the result of having to sit on a bedroll for two hours. Fortunately, it doesn't affect his nighttime sleeping habits.

He has mentioned a few times lately that his teeth hurt. So I was asking him while brushing his teeth, how they were feeling. He said fine but they were sad. I said,"Your teeth are sad?" "Yeah. Because they miss their mommy. Their Poppy is with them but their mommy is out hunting for food."

After having recently read Alice in Wonderland. he talks about "Deedledum and Deedledee.

We were going to go up to his room to do something and he told me it was "way up at the top". The he instructed me to ask how we were going to get upstairs. When I asked he flourished his hand and showed me the stairs he "invented". We walked up the stairs (2 short flights) and when we got to the top he was tired and said "next time I am going to invent an elevator".(After relaying this story to Paul, he told me it is a direct quote from an episode of The Backyardigans.)

Talking about Chrissy (a friend we visit regularly who is in a wheelchair and non-verbal).
"Why doesn't she talk?"
I told him that's the way God made her.
Rudy's response: "That's silly!"

FFF- Christmas Card?

Too bad I already sent out Christmas cards out because these would have made great pictures for them!

This is just after Rudy and Paul brought our tree home. Rudy chose the superhero poses while Paul took the pictures.
