Before we went away for Labor Day weekend, I gave Rudy a bag and told him to put whatever toys he wanted to take in the bag. His decision: a dragon, a scorpion, a wand, a cannon and a crab bean bag- very random.

Rudy was performing a puppet show for us (after coming home from seeing a puppet show). The puppet show gradually morphed into a nature show. Some quotes:
Here is a poisonous snake, but don't worry, we took the poisonous out.
Rudy: This is a lamb, which is a baby horse with all the hair.
Me: (whispering) You know that's not true, right?
Rudy: This is a puppet show! (as if to say how crazy am I to expect the truth)
This is a scorpion. It's not found around here. I think in Africa or someplace. I don't know. I'm not a nature guy.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Rudy was complaining that I forgot potato chips in his lunch box. He told me, "I like potato chips and I always want potato chips and when we run out you need to buy more. And I will put them on the store list, so you buy more. Except I don't know how to write." (It's possible I frequently remind Paul to add things to the list if he wants me to buy them!)
