Rudyisms

~Sometimes I feel like we should be correcting the words he mispronounces, but it's such a part of him, that I don't want to.
Some current words:
cho-cho-wa-wa (for the small dog)- we recently had a conversation about this word when he asked if that was the right name. We told him no and how it really was pronounced, and he said it makes more sense to say both parts twice!
emeny (enemy) and sometimes aminal- I know this is a common mistake, but it's just so cute!

~Rudy was asking us about a scary demon guy that Paul had supposedly told him about. He kept saying it was around July 3 or 4. The guy was dressed up like a football player. Maybe it was the 8th or 9th. Finally I asked if he meant Friday the 13th and of course he did. When we pointed out that the guy wore a hockey mask, he said, "It's almost the same thing."

~Rudy showed me a football card that someone at school had given him. He was very excited to tell me the player was from the horses team. I knew right away that he meant the Cowboys. He again replied, "It's almost the same thing."
~We were talking to Rudy about his behavior in school and asking for specific details of a time when he wasn't doing something he was told to do. He told us that the teacher told him to sit criss-cross applesauce when he had his legs straight out and he did it for a few minutes but then he put his legs back out because "I wasn't comfortable". I told him that maybe -at some other time during the day- he could talk to the teacher and explain that it made him uncomfortable and maybe he and the teacher could come up with some other way he could sit. His response, "No, she's not that kind of lady."

~In the same conversation, Paul was talking to Rudy and Rudy was doing his best to not be involved int he discussion. Paul paused to let what he said sink in and see if Rudy had any response. Rudy turned to Paul and said, "Did I tell you we got a new kid today?" in such a casual, change-the-subject way it was quite comical. When Paul told him he wasn't finished talking,  Rudy's response was, "You stopped talking so I thought we were done." The teen years are going to be a mess!!!!
