Big Boy in Bunk Beds

Last summer when we went on vacation, we stayed in cabins that had bunk beds. Rudy was VERY excited to sleep on the top bunk, but didn't make it through the first night before he wanted to move to the bottom. Then in October, we went camping again with bunk nebs, and this time he stayed in the top bunk. A few months ago, neighbors of friends were having a yard sale and selling a set of bunk beds. The day before the sale, I went and looked at the bunk beds (already disassembled) and loved the fact that they were sturdy wood bunk beds, so for $35 I bought them.
We had to wait until we had a free weekend, rare around here, and as the holiday weekend loomed, we knew this was our chance. We had no instructions, but fortunately, there were not a lot of parts and it was easy to figure out what went where. The project took most of the day, including cleaning and straightening Rudy's room, but by about 3:00 we had finished and there was a very happy boy in our house.

Since this is one of the few times his room will look this neat and organized, we had to document it.

All in all it was an easy project, and we were very proud of ourselves for successfully completing it without any major problems.
