Random Christmas Pictures

Rudy and Paul put up the Christmas lights on a cloudy day. As soon as they went out, it started to rain. As soon as they were finished and came in, the rain stopped.

Rudy and I went out the other day and Rudy arranged his gloves like this. He has one pair actually on his hands and the other strapped around his wrist.

Rudy setting up our nativity set to look EXACTLY the way it does on the box. A few minutes later he changed it and it has since been changed several times.

We went to the Children's Museum recently and Rudy played in the News room - I don't think he's ever gone in here before but today he ran right to it and started predicting the weather.

The pictures of the TV screen didn't turn out well but he kept insisting I had to watch him from the screen instead of directly at him.

Over the years, Rudy has gotten so good at building a car; he never needs any help anymore.

The other night a local church had a living nativity. Rudy loved seeing the animals and would have stayed all night trying to pet them.

Dark and cold outside and my little Guatemalan refused to wear his gloves; I'm not sure where he gets his cold tolerance from!

After seeing the nativity, we went to dinner with my dad. Rudy was sitting on these chairs, waiting for food to arrive and concocted an elaborate game where we were on a ship and Dad and I were in charge of steering and the anchor and Rudy was the look out.

With just a week to go before Christmas, we finally decorated our tree.

Snowstorm Day 2

We had a significant amount of snow by dinner time last night. Paul went out to shovel the sidewalk since more snow was forecast. By this morning, you couldn't tell that Paul had shoveled anything the night before- we probably doubled our snowfall amount overnight.

Views from this morning:

You can see the door just barely opened over the snow.

Yes, Paul did shovel this about 12 hours earlier.

The birds were very active at the birdfeeder all weekend.

Venturing out. It was much nicer being out in the snow today as opposed to yesterday.

Our dog hates going out when it rains, but as soon as there's snow, he loves it - rolls in it, runs in it, acts like a puppy.

The tracks behind Rudy are made by Rudy and Lou.

The empty lot at the end of our street.

Boy's best friend.

This is what our cars looked like.

After playing in the snow, what does my son want to do? Eat snow. He did the same thing last year.

Our house tonight - walkway cleared (even though I am hoping for another snow day) and looking very Christmasy.

FFF- Happy Boy

As usual, I couldn't get a forward facing picture of Rudy but you can see his smile and enjoyment as he looked at the Christmas lights.

Signs of Christmas

We knew there was supposed to be a small tree lighting and Santa visit in our town tonight but couldn't find much about it. Rudy desperately needed a haircut so we went there, which just happens to be across the street from the tree lighting. We managed to time it perfectly and after Rudy's haircut, walked over to sing some carols, see the tree be lit and say hi to Santa.

I didn't get a good picture of Rudy saying hi to Santa but in this picture he is standing directly behind Santa, waiting for him to turn around and Rudy jumping around in anticipation.

After seeing Santa, we took a drive to look at Christmas lights. One house nearby always puts on a huge display with lights that flash to a local radio station. As you can see, Rudy loved it. As we were getting ready to leave, some songs and lines from The Grinch came on.
