Funny Farm Rescue

This week of vacation we also visited a local animal rescue farm. There are a lot of animals, many which are free of can be reached and petted through fences. I took Rudy and his friend Jaedyn and they are already making plans to go back and volunteer.

Touching a turkey's tail (the turkey never even flinched).

Noisiest birds in the world.

A skunk (it's sprayer didn't spray).

It had been raining for several days so was very muddy, which the pigs loved.

There were a number of dogs on the farm and some of them loved to catch balls and frisbees, so the boys had fun playing with them.

Snoop Dog (an old, sick, slow dog who was so sweet).

Socks. This was the only horse that was free to roam. It was quite a surprise when it first came walking up to us.

Condo Kitty- it's a rare cat that will sit in Rudy's lap!

More fun with dogs

At the Pumpkin Patch

Saturday afternoon was cloudy and a little rainy, but we needed to get out, so we headed to a pumpkin patch, This was a new farm that had opened this year. We arrived and there was only one other family there, who left soon after, so we had the place to ourselves.

There were pumpkin people all over.

They had an animal farm including a huge turkey.

A nice pony

A very greedy pig

Some cute goats

We had fun feeding all the animals.

There was even an alpaca.

In the animal barnyard there was also a small play area. The boys had a blast here.

After playing and running and wrestling for a while, we headed over to the hayride- our private hayride.

More pumpkin people.

Our last stop was the pumpkin patch- this is what it looked like. We just picked out our pumpkins and headed home after also buying some homemade treats like apple bread and apple cider donut holes.
