Rudy's Anniversary

To celebrate three years of Rudy being home with us, we went to dinner at The Rainforest Cafe,(aka in Rudy speak as The Jungle Cafeteria and The Animal Cafeteria) a trip we think we're going to make an annual event.

As we arrived Rudy wanted to watch the alligator - in he past he's been afraid of it when it starts to move and snap - even going so far as to warn us to be careful if we're standing near it. This year he stood and watched it and said, "I'm not afraid of it anymore."

hen we got to our seat. We were seated right next to a big elephant. Rudy checked out our surroundings.

In honor of the elephant seated nearby, he got a drink featuring an elephant.

And then the rains came and our brave boy covered his ears as usual.

Our elephant neighbor.

Rudy not so sure about the sounds of the rainstorm and the noise of the elephant.

A lizard on the wall behind us.

After being seated for a while, Rudy decided he wanted to switch seats with Paul so he could be closer to the elephant.

Complaining to the elephant for being too noisy while he's trying to talk - quite the irony considering we spend so much time telling Rudy to wait while we finish talking!

His elephant drink also came with a little elephant figure.

My boys in an almost serious pose.

Our dessert - The Volcano!

It is too bad Rudy didn't enjoy the volcano!

After dinner we took a short walk on the boardwalk. We could see the sun beginning to set behind the buildings.

A view of the outside of The Rainforest Cafe from the pier we walked out on.

Rudy was so excited this past week to be celebrating an anniversary, and he tried to work it as much as he could - "What kind of cake do I get, it is my anniversary." "Can I buy something in the store, it's my anniversary, you know?"- we were obviously happy to indulge him when we could since we are thrilled to be celebrating three full years of having him in our arms!
